Las Cruces hiking club conquers Cooke’s Peak
Members of the Jornada Meet-Up Hiking Club successfully hiked to the top of Cooke’s Peak Saturday.
The challenging 8,400-foot climb to the top took the 11-member group about 2 1/2 hours.
KVIA’s general manager, Kevin Lovell, was among the members of the group.
The mountain can be seen from Interstate 10, about 25 miles northeast of Deming.
