Couple rob women at gunpoint at McDonald’s drive thru, police say

Two women in a vehicle at a McDonald’s drive thru lane were assaulted after one of them accidentally honked her vehicle’s horn, police said.

The alleged assault happened at the McDonald’s on the 1100 block of Yarbrough shortly before 3 am Wednesday.

Police say the women were behind a vehicle in which 26-year-old Jaime Flores and 27-year-old Vanessa Sanchez were riding in.

When the horn was accidentally honked, Sanchez and Flores exited their vehicle to confront the women.

Sanchez allegedly threatened the victims and Flores took out a handgun, police said. Sanchez and Flores allegedly stole the victim’s cell phones and fled the scene, police added.

Investigators tracked Flores to the 1300 block of Arizona, where he allegedly tried running away from officers. Flores, caught after a brief pursuit, was allegedly in possession of 28 grams of pot.

Sanchez was later taken into custody without incident. Both Sanchez and Flores are charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery.

Flores was additionally charged with “Possession of aControlled Substance (Cocaine)” and “Evading Arrest or Detention.”

Sachez was booked into the county jail on a $200,000 bond. Flores was booked into the county jail on bonds totaling $230,000.
