Juan Carlos Navarrete, anchor/ reporter

Juan Carlos Navarrete was born in El Paso Texas, and is the youngest of two children. He attended Coronado High School where he graduated in 2011. Shortly after his graduation he attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he graduated in 2016 with a Multimedia Journalism degree, with a minor in film.
JC began his career at KVIA as an intern with Good Morning El Paso in the summer of 2015. After his completion of his first internship he continued to volunteer his time at ABC-7 interning with the Borderland Blitz, where he honed in his love for sports and football. Not long after he was offered a job opportunity as a photographer and the opportunity to become a Multimedia Journalist.
Within a few months of being a photographer he went live on air for the first time as part of the Humane Society telethon. Working part time and going to school full time JC began reporting on stories during the week and on the weekends. Once he graduated, he was offered the morning traffic anchor position.
JC has always envisioned himself as a sports anchor and is striving to reach his goals, but is blessed to find himself serving the El Paso community as the weekend co-anchor and a reporter. He understands the importance of his position and strives to deliver the most accurate information possible.
JC is a passionate Cowboys fan and on his time off you can catch him at almost any sporting event.
