La Viña Winery Spring Wine Festival kicks off with thousands in attendance
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The La Viña Winery Spring Wine Festival 2023 kicked off Saturday. The festival is a 2-day event ending Sunday.
It's a day where wine-ing is encouraged!
"Have a good time tasting some wine," said Andrea Cruz, a Festival attendee.
"We got plenty to eat, plenty to drink," said owner Ken Stark.
"It's time for a refill," said Cruz.
The La Viña Winery festival brought together new wine lovers and seasoned attendees.
"My mom comes every year and she just retired. So we're celebrating her retirement and having some fun and drinking some wine," said Cruz.
The festival included 70-plus food vendors, arts and craft vendors, live music, and of course wine.
"Good wines to taste, good wines to drink, along with the food of all kinds of food is everything. Everything from pizza to corn on the cob to turkey legs to barbecue," said Stark.
"So far, so good. The people are fun. Everybody's enjoying themselves. The wine is great. The weather is fantastic. Can't complain," said Cruz.
"It's a really relaxed place. Even though you see, there's a lot of people here, as you know, several thousand. But, you know, we want people to come and have a nice time. If the weather's nice, you can have a great time just sitting here listening to music," said Stark.
Adult admission to the festival includes a souvenir glass and a choice of either 5 tastes or a full glass of wine.
"It's a way that we can present our new wines twice a year. In the spring, more white wines, and in the Fall more red wines. But either way, it's a chance for us to give the public a chance to taste the new ones," said Stark.
