Jacob Carrasco

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Pasoans have loved Rosco's Burger Inn for almost 70 years. The restaurant's kitchen caught fire around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday as employees were preparing to open for the day.

Owner Jacob Carrasco says he jumped into action. He helped contain the fire to the kitchen, saving the rest of the building before fire crews arrived at the central El Paso restaurant.

First responders say the fire caused substantial damage to the restaurant's kitchen. No one was injured.

The restaurant will remain closed temporarily for cleanup and necessary repairs.
