Medical examiner identifies man as ‘suspicious death’ victim found along Transmountain Road
The medical examiner on Tuesday completed the autopsy of a body discovered along Transmountain Road in El Paso and positively identified the victim, a police official told ABC-7.
Sgt. Enrique Carrillo said the victim was a man, but he declined to release the man’s name or his cause of death at this time.
Police had labeled the case a “suspicious death” following the body’s discovery on Monday afternoon on federal property on the northeast side of the summit on Transmountain.
Carillo’s announcement ended speculation and likely brought relief to the friends and family of missing El Paso mom Erika Gaytan, who has been the focus of an ongoing search since her disappearance back in July.
