LONDON (AP) — London’s police chief says two officers remain hospitalized after suffering “horrifically serious” injuries as they rushed to stop a sword-wielding attacker on a suburban street. Details about the attack in which a teenager was killed emerged Wednesday, a day before London voters go to the polls to elect their mayor and local council members after a campaign where crime and trust in the capital’s police force were major issues. The head of the Metropolitan Police Service applauded his officers for running toward danger as they responded to the incident in the northeastern London suburb of Hainault early Tuesday. Daniel Anjorin, 14, was killed in the attack, and four people were injured, including the two police officers.
