Firefighters knock down smoke and flames at Texas Roadhouse restaurant just off I-10 at Yarbrough

El Paso firefighters put out a small blaze that burned a portion of a restaurant just off of Interstate 10 at Yarbrough during the Friday evening dinner rush.

Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the Texas Roadhouse around 6 p.m. Firefighters indicated they managed to bring it under control about 20 minutes later.

The building was safely evacuated and firefighters said there were no injuries.

Reports from the scene suggested that the fire did not spread to the bulk of the restaurant’s interior and was confined to a section of the roof and ducts.

However, fire crews noted there was smoke and water damage in the building.

Firefighters were examining grease traps in the kitchen to determine the fire’s origin.
