EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso Police said a missing 77-year-old man with dementia was found unharmed in Amarillo on Thursday morning.

Police issued a statewide Silver Alert Wednesday for William Glenn Lee, after he disappeared from this home on El Paso's east side.

Police said officers in Amarillo found him after conducting a welfare check at a truck stop.

Authorities had previously said the missing man was likely behind the wheel of white Mercedes SUV, but there was no immediate word on how Lee made it to the truck stop where he was found.
