Pregnant woman injured after SUV collides with school bus at Anthony Gap

An SUV collided with a school bus on New Mexico State Highway 404, known as the Anthony gap Wednesday before noon.

A spokesman for the Gadsden Independent School District, Luis Villalobos, confirmed the bus belonged to them and was taking six Dona Ana Community College Gadsden Campus students to the college from a pick-up location at Desert Pride Academy.
Villalobos said the students and bus driver were not injured. The driver of the SUV, a pregnant woman, was taken to the hospital, according to Villalobos.

Villalobos said some students continued on to the college; others were picked-up by a parent.
Villalobos said the bus was being operated by Boone Transportation. He said the district contracts with the company.

Highway 404 has since reopened.
