Cat shot dead by arrow in Las Cruces; reward offered to catch killer
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Authorities on Monday asked for the public's help finding the person or people responsible for shooting and killing a cat with an arrow earlier this month.
On Nov. 4, a Las Cruces Animal Control officer responded to a report of a critically injured cat on Miranda Street, south of Picacho Avenue. According to police, the cat cat had "an arrow lodged in his body."
Police say the cat was likely feral and that no one has come forward to claim ownership.
Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 to find the person or people responsible for the death. According to police, a "concerned resident" has also contributed $500 to the reward.
Investigators asked that if you know anything, please call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Police said you can also provide a tip through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.”
