Road closures in El Paso County, Las Cruces for the week of May 15 to May 20

EL PASO, Texas -- From west to east El Paso, to Southern New Mexico there's a construction project in almost every part of the Borderland. Here's a complete list of TxDOT's and Las Cruces road closures May 15 to May 19.

EL PASO

I-10 Widening East

Monday, May 15 through Friday May 19

Daily, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

• Gateway West Boulevard right lane closure from Eastlake Boulevard to Bill Burnett Drive.

Crews will be pouring sidewalk

Loop 375 Widening Project

Monday, May 15 through Thursday, May 18

Nightly, 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

• Pan American Underpass and North Loop Road Underpass will be closed

Crews will be working on bridge deck and concrete paving

Monday, May 15 through Thursday, May 18

Nightly, 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

• Americas Avenue (Loop 375) northbound main lane closure from North Loop Exit Ramp to Zaragoza Entrance Ramp (POE)

Crews will be working on bridge deck and concrete paving

Monday, May 15 through Saturday, May 20

Daily 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

• Americas Highway (Loop 375) north and southbound alternating lane closure from North Loop Drive to Zaragoza Road

Crews will be installing electrical utilities

Tuesday, May 16

Overnight 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

• 1-10 East and westbound left lane closures between Horizon overpass to Clint overpass

Crews will be placing concrete barriers

Wednesday, May 17 until further notice

• 1-10 East and westbound left lane closures between Horizon overpass to Clint overpass

Crews will begin removing guardrail

• I-10 westbound between Piedras and Cotton right lane and exit ramp closed.

Tuesday, May 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• I-10 westbound between Brown and Missouri downtown right lane and exit closed.

Wednesday, May 17

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• SH-20 (Doniphan) southbound between Vinton and Los Mochis right lane closed.

Thursday, May 18

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• US-54 (CD Lanes) northbound between Cassidy and Fred Wilson left lane closed.
• Woodrow Bean east and westbound at Transmountain turnaround closed.

Friday, May 19

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• North Desert between Thorn and Redd left lane closed.

 Maintenance

Monday, May 15 through Friday, May 19

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• I-10 eastbound Cotton entrance ramp closed.
• I-10 eastbound at Schuster alternate lane closure.
• I-10 east and westbound between Trowbridge and Buffalo Soldier alternate lane closures.

Crews will be repairing crack seal on bridge deck.

• Gateway West between Copia and Raynor left lane closed.
• I-10 West at Copia exit closed.

Crews will be cleaning.

I-10 Widening West

Monday, May 15

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic between Redd Road and Vinton Road.
• DETOUR: Take Exit 9 (Redd Road), continue on North Desert Boulevard, re-enter I-10 past Vinton.

Crews will be relocating temporary concrete safety barriers.

Beginning Monday, May 22, at 6 a.m. and continuing until further notice

• South Desert Boulevard will be closed to all traffic from the Vinton Road onramp to Los Mochis Drive.
• DETOUR: Enter Eastbound I-10, then take Exit 6 (Spur 16/Loop 375/Transmountain Road).
• LOCAL TRAFFIC ACCESS: From SH 20 (Doniphan Drive), take Los Mochis Drive, then turn right on South Desert Boulevard.

Crews will be working on the frontage road.

The following closures will continue until further notice:

• Sundays through Thursdays, intermittent overnight lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-10 between Vinton Road and Redd Road.
• Mondays through Saturdays, intermittent daytime lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-10 between Vinton Road and Redd Road.
• Mondays through Saturdays, intermittent daytime lane closures on North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard between Anthony and Redd Road.
• South Desert Boulevard reduced to one lane between Vinton Road and Transmountain Road.
• South Desert Boulevard reduced to one lane between Artcraft Road and Redd Road.
• North Desert Boulevard reduced to one lane between Redd Road and Artcraft Road. 

LAS CRUCES

• The northbound right lane on Solano Drive, at the intersection of Madrid Avenue, will be temporarily closed after 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023.
• Temporary traffic calming devices will be installed on Melendres Street between El Molino Boulevard and Williams Lane from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, to Thursday, May 18, 2023.
• Pavement striping and markings maintenance will occur at the following intersections from Tuesday, May 9, 2023, to Thursday, May 18, 2023. The work will take place overnights between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. All roads will remain open to traffic with intermittent lane closures: 
  • Lohman Avenue at Telshor Boulevard.
  • Foothills Road at Telshor Boulevard.
  • Main Street at El Paseo Road.
  • Wyatt Drive at El Paseo Road.
  • Idaho Avenue at El Paseo Road.
  • Boutz Road at El Paseo Road.
  • Farney Lane at El Paseo Road.
• A lane closure will be in effect on Pioneer Place from Tuesday, May 9, 2023, to Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
• Fiber Optic Installation will occur on south Valley Drive, from Avenida de Mesilla to south Main Street, from Monday May 1, 2023, to Monday, May 22, 2023.
