Man in his 50s dies in police custody
UPDATE: El Paso Police say a man in his 50s was "kicked out of a bar" at 4907 Crossroads in the Upper Valley just after 1 a.m. Police were called out to the business after the man started jumping on cars in the parking lot.
Police arrived to find the man "intoxicated" and they arrested him for public intoxication, according to El Paso Police Officer Adrian Cisneros, Publica Information Officer for the department. Cisneros stated that as officers were putting the man under arrest, he resisted and "force was used and ultimately he was taken into custody".
Once the man was put in the police unit, officers "checked on his injuries" since force was used and medical assistance was requested.
Cisneros said that he stopped breathing and became unresponsive inside the car. Officers then began CPR until Fire Medical Services arrives and took over. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Cisneros said the case is now being investigated by Crimes Against Persons and the Texas Rangers.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - The El Paso Police Department said officers responded to a "drunk disturbing" call at 4907 Crossroads just after 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
At this time police say they are investigating an "in custody death".
