DALLAS, Texas - UTEP indoor track and field record holder Jordani Woodley was named one of the recipients of the 2022-23 Conference USA Winter Spirit of Service Award as announced by league officials on Thursday.

The award honors student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing, and participation in their sport.

The Spirit of Service Award is presented three times throughout the season, with Thursday’s honorees representing women’s basketball and, track and field.

Recipients are nominated by their institutions.

Woodley, a native of Hanover, Jamaica, accumulated 51.0 hours as a volunteer coach for the USATF Border Association.

Woodley’s 7.80 in the 60-meter hurdles is a school record as he set it at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Feb. 4.

He originally set the mark with a 7.82 during the 2022 season, beating out Shakeem Smith’s time of 7.89 in 2020.

Woodley placed fourth in the 60m hurdles at the 2023 C-USA ITF Championships.

Woodley was also named a 2022 C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medalist, while also being on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
