New Mexico State fell just short against Southern Utah with a 61-58 loss
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- The Aggies three-game win streak came to a rapid halt Saturday when they fell 61-58 against Southern Utah.
NMSU led the Thunderbirds for the majority of the game, but after hitting 50% of their shots in the first half, the Aggies offense struggled to connect with the basket. They hit just 24% of their shots in the final 20 minutes of the game.
Molly Kaiser had a day, matching her season high with 18 points while Shania Harper scored 12 points for her second highest total of the year. Meanwhile Ene Adams was a monster on the glass once again as she tied her career high in boards with 10.
It marked the Aggies first loss in conference play this season as they move to 6-8, 1-1.
NMSU next play Utah Valley on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
