Man killed after being hit by a car in West El Paso

UPDATE: El Paso Police confirm the pedestrian involved in a car crash Friday night died. 

Police said the driver was heading southbound down Mesa st. when the pedestrian ran across Mesa st. 

According to police, the pedestrian ran in front of the driver's path and was not on a crosswalk. 

Police said the pedestrian was a 49-year-old man, but have not released his name.

EL PASO, Texas — A person died after being hit by a car on North Mesa and Festival Friday night.

It happened at around 8:30 p.m.

Police have not confirmed someone has died, but ABC-7 saw a body on the ground covered by a white sheet.

Police have not said who was at fault.

The victim has not been identified.
