StormTRACK Weather: Break out the ice scrapers, frost for the morning commute

Borderland residents woke up to frozen windshields Friday morning, not everyone in the borderland has the forethought to buy an ice scraper for the chance that they might really need it one day.

Just in case, there are a few stand-ins that may help you t do the trick:
-Spatula
-Credit cards
-Plastic dustpan
Other tips for de-icing your windshield spraying your window with either a saltwater solution or an alcohol solution. You should never use hot water to melt the ice on your windshield. This can actually cause the glass to crack.

Once we get past the cold morning, temperatures will reach the low 50s. Temperatures will warm a few degrees this weekend, winds will be light over the next few days with mostly clear skies. Our next
chance of rain will be next Thursday and Friday along with possible wind gusts reaching 40 mph.
