Governor Abbott hosted Get Out The Vote event in El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Today, Texas Governor Greg Abbott hosted a Get Out The Vote event in El Paso.
He discussed several propositions set to appear on the ballots in the upcoming Constitutional election in November. Gov. Abbott talked about education, reforming the bail system, border issues, and plans to improve the state's water supply, among other topics.
"We announced earlier this week the removal of certain people who are registered to vote or who appear not to qualify to vote; there are states across the country that are actually allowing people in the country illegally to vote as part of the process in those states," Gov. Abbott said. "And we're saying by this ballot proposition that we will not let that happen in Texas."
The governor also encouraged voters to support Proposition Six on the ballot, which aims to cut and reduce property taxes for homeowners and business owners.
"There's also a ballot proposition for small businesses across El Paso that will exempt the first $125,000 of the personal property tax," Gov. Abbott added.
"There is an important election on November 4th where Texans can vote to lower property taxes, reform our broken bail system, secure our elections, and address several other Issues," Abbott's campaign explained.

The free, family-friendly event happened at the Riviera Cocina & Cantina.
