Rep. Veronica Escobar discusses federal funding freeze

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- U.S Congresswoman Veronica Escobar held a press conference with El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson and El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego discussing the federal funding freeze.

They all agreed that it would harm El Paso should the freeze continue. A federal judge placed a hold on the freeze, giving local leaders a few days to figure out a plan going forward. The biggest concern for Rep. Escobar was uncertainty of the situation and not knowing exactly which programs would be cut and which wouldn't be.

"I am going to try to get as much information, from my colleagues on appropriations so that I can deliver it to all of our local folks."
