One dead after single-vehicle crash in Lower Valley
UPDATE--EPPD officials have released more information about what lead up to Sunday morning's deadly crash.
According to police, 59-year-old Gabriel Gonzalez Rangel was traveling eastbound on El Paso Dr. when he failed to negotiate a sharp turn.
Police said tire marks were not found indicating the driver drove straight into the guard rail and concrete barrier.
Officials also said Gonzalez Rangel was also not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from his vehicle.
The vehicle continued, struck the guard rail and was then redirected into lanes of traffic.
The car would collide with a rock wall in front of a residence resulting in the man's death.
This incident marks the 7th traffic fatality in 2023 compared to two last year.
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- One person has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Lower Valley.
The crash happened at the 6700 block of El Paso Drive.
Police confirmed that one person was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officials added that Special Traffic Investigations is on the scene of the crash.
