City seeks input on name for new east El Paso park

Residents have less than a month to give their input on the name of a new El Paso park.

The park will be on the city's east side at 13501 Jason Crandall Drive. The first phase is set to open in 2020 and once it's fully developed it will be the largest city-owned park. The city said it will be more than 90 acres, which is twice as big as Eastwood (Album) Park.

“Traditionally, our parks have been named after geographic areas or people. This approach is a fun and creative way of engaging the public in defining and branding a park that will become a fun landmark space not only for Eastsiders but our entire binational region,” said Sam Rodriguez, City of El Paso Capital Improvement Department Director.

Name submissions must be received by midnight on Jan. 15 2020. For official rules or to submit an entry click here.
