LONDON (AP) — Lawmakers are trying to get to the bottom of one of Britain’s gravest injustices and are questioning bosses of the Post Office and Fujitsu. Tuesday’s development comes as momentum grows to compensate and clear the names of more than 900 Post Office branch managers wrongly convicted of theft or fraud because of a faulty computer system. The Commons’ Business and Trade Committee are trying to speed up compensation for victims of one of the worst miscarriages of justice in British history. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has vowed to introduce unprecedented legislation to reverse the convictions following a television docudrama that created a huge surge of public support for the former postmasters.
