Quarterback Josh Adkins to leave NMSU
LAS CRUCES, NM -- New Mexico State University football quarterback Josh Adkins announced his departure from the team on Twitter Friday morning.
Adkins played two seasons with the Aggies, which ended the season 2-10.
He referred to Proverbs 16:9, which says, "In their hearts, humans plan their course but the Lord establishes their steps", in his tweet before explaining his decision to leave.
The tweet read: 'First off, I would like to thank God for guiding my steps and allowing me to use the game I love as a platform. I would also like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and staff for the love and support throughout my journey. Words cannot express my gratitude. To New Mexico State University and the awesome community, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. This community and institution has given me memories that will last a lifetime. However, after much prayers and talks with my family, I believe God is leading me to a new chapter. With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal and graduating in the summer with 2 years of eligibility remaining. Please respect my decision. Much love, Josh Adkins".
He is the 6th Aggie from this past season to transfer out.
