El Paso police officer opens fire, shooting & wounding ‘suspect’
An El Paso police officer shot and wounded a person authorities described as a “suspect” late Saturday night.
The shooting happened shortly before midnight in the 3000 block of Lebanon.
Police did not indicate why the person shot was considered a “suspect” — nor did they immediately provide details on what led the officer to draw his gun and open fire.
The wounded person was taken to the hospital in what authorities described as “unknown condition.”
Details remained few as investigators converged on the shooting scene and remained there early Sunday examining evidence in the incident.
