The best neighborhoods for trick-or-treating, according to El Pasoans

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- ABC-7 has compiled a list of the best El Paso neighborhoods for trick-or-treating, according to El Pasoans.

We asked people from across the city where they believe the best trick-or-treating happens consistently, year after year.

Look through our list below to learn which neighborhood came out on top.

10. Logan Heights

Northeast El Paso

Located just outside of Fort Bliss, Logan Heights is a popular trick-or-treating destination among military families and longtime El Pasoans alike.

9. Manhattan Heights

Central El Paso

Encompassing such famous scenic spots as Memorial Park and the El Paso Municipal Rose Garden, Manhattan Heights offers trick-or-treaters a beautiful, historic setting for their Halloween celebrations.

8. The Willows

Upper Valley

The Willows have developed a reputation as a trick-or-treating treasure trove, and for many years it reigned supreme in the minds of El Pasoans as the number one destination for Halloween night. While some people still make a yearly pilgrimage to the Upper Valley neighborhood, others have moved on to other, newer areas, especially in the northeast.

7. Kern Place

West El Paso

Debate surrounds Kern Place's merits as a trick-or-treating destination. While El Pasoans agree that the neighborhood is a safe, clean, and beautiful place to spend their Halloween night, so commentators warn that large crowds can lead to smaller candy hauls.

"Kern has the best ambience but candy is not generously given. Probably because such large crowds are expected and candy needs to be stretched out throughout the night."

6. Emerald Park

Horizon City

Emerald Park and the wider Eastlake area have been pulling in trick-or-treaters from around Horizon City and Far East El Paso for years now. Residents tell ABC-7 that the area gets packed each year.

"We usually get about 350 trick or treaters here in the Emeralds."

5. Segundo Barrio

South El Paso

As one of the oldest neighborhoods in all of El Paso, many residents tell ABC-7 that they have fond memories of trick-or-treating in the Segundo Barrio. Many of those El Pasoans add that they love returning to the neighborhood for Halloween year after year.

4. Mesquite Hills

Northeast El Paso

Located in a very quickly growing area of northeast El Paso, Mesquite Hills has already cultivated a reputation among El Pasoans of having great candy for trick-or-treaters. Many El Pasoans agree that Mesquite Hills and the neighborhoods surrounding it rank among the best in the Sun City.

3. Sandstone Ranch

Northeast El Paso

This northeast neighborhood is well loved by seasoned trick-or-treaters. Sandstone Ranch is not alone in the northeast, El Pasoans tell ABC-7 that the entire area is a great spot to be on Halloween night.

2. Pebble Hills

Far East El Paso

This rapidly developing area in the far east is home to many young families. It's also an incredibly popular spot Halloween night. Pebble Hills with its brand new homes and businesses is by far El Pasoans' favorite neighborhood for trick-or-treating in Far East El Paso.

1. North Hills

Northeast El Paso

The people have spoken: North Hills is the best neighborhood for trick-or-treating in all of El Paso. The Northeast El Paso area won by a land slide, with many people touting its popularity among Halloween revelers. The only complaint among El Pasoans: North Hills usually ends up running out of candy.

"North hills in the northeast. They come by the carloads. Always run out of candy."
