?Taveon is a very talented kick returner with his great instincts and speed,? head coach DeWayne Walker said. ?He is a special player for our team in that area. Being number one in the country in all-purpose yards, a lot of those yards came off his kick returners. We are honored to be able to recognize him as an All-American, which brings more notoriety to New Mexico State.?

The Aggies? first All-American was Frank Burke back in 1946, as Burke was named a third team Associated Press ?Little? All-American. Pervis Atkins is the only Aggie to earn first team All-American honors back in 1960 by the Associated Press.
