Veterans Day 2015: Get free meals, discounts, oil changes and special deals
Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11, this is the time to honor those who served in the U.S. armed forces, and remember the sacrifices they have made for our country.
Several businesses take the opportunity to show their appreciation by offering veterans free and discounted meals, goods and services on Veterans Day. Here’s a list businesses with special offers this Wednesday:

Applebee’s: A free meal, Nov. 11, 2015: Last year, Applebee’s served over one million free meals to military veterans and active service members. Applebee’s is again offering a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015. There will be 7 entres to choose from, beverage and gratuity not included.
BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse: Nov. 11, 2015. Free entree, up to $12.95 value. Offer valid to all active duty military and veterans, with proof of service.
Chili’s – Free meal, Nov. 11 2015. Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of any lunch combo, or your choice of a dinner meal from a select menu, including any full-size flatbread. Offer only available at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service.
Denny’s, Nov. 11, 2015. Free Build Your Own Grand Slam® on Nov. 11, from 5 a.m. to noon for all active, inactive, and retired military personnel. Participating locations only. Please call ahead.
Golden Corral – Free meal, Nov. 11, 2015 (5pm – 9pm): The 15th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner will is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation dinner.
Hooters, Nov. 11, 2015. Hooters invites all veterans and current servicemen and women to enjoy a free meal from a select menu. Requires drink purchase. Only valid at participating locations.

Wednesday is also Free Pie day, and veterans will be able to receive a free slice of pie. Arby’s: One free Roast Beef Classic on Veterans Day.
Cracker Barrel is offering veterans a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca Cola Cake on Nov. 11. Additionally, 10 percent of all proceeds from the sale of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake, as well as select retail items will benefit the USO Transition 360 Alliance that assists military personnel and their families’ transition into civilian life following their service.

Las Cruces Jiffy Lube service centers will offer a free service oil change
to veterans and active military this Wednesday from 8 a.m. to Noon. In order to receive the complimentary service, veterans and active military members must show
valid military identification. Jiffy Lube locations: 800 El Paseo Road 1805 E. Lohman Avenue.
Dollar General: Get 11 percent off on Nov. 11 if you are a veteran or active duty military.
JC Penney: Twenty percent off for veterans and active-duty military on in-store purchases.
Lowes Home Improvement: Ten percent off for anyone who has served in the military with proof of service.
Most businesses require proof of military service, which can include a VA Universal Access Card, Military I.D., DD-214, Veterans Service Organization Card, in some cases businesses will accept a picture of the veteran in uniform.
