Thousands in Texas Guard unvaccinated as mandate challenged
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas is asking a federal judge to block a Biden administration order that requires National Guard members on state duty to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. State officials indicated Tuesday in a federal lawsuit that thousands of Texas National Guard members are refusing vaccinations. Texas has more than 20,000 National Guard members, the largest contingent of any state. The lawsuit comes a week after a federal judge rejected a similar challenge brought by Oklahoma’s governor.
