Socorro Independent School District to increase salaries of teachers, administrators

EL PASO, Texas - The SISD board voted Tuesday to give pay raises all across the district.

Teachers will get the pay highest raise with a 6% raise in salary, while administrators, such as principals, will receive a 5% raise. Cabinet members will get the lowest raise in salary, with 4%.

Additionally, the minimum wage in the district will be raised to $15 per hour, and $2,500 bonuses were also ordered to be paid to employees in two installments. The first is a $1,250 payment in August. A second $1,250 will come in November.
