Getting a colonoscopy could reduce risk of cancer by almost 50%

A colonoscopy could reduce the risk of dying from colorectal cancer by as much as 50% according to a new study. The New England Journal of Medicine looked at 84,000 European patients . Those who agreed to undergo the procedure reduced their risk by 31% as compared to those who were not screened. The study also found that it would take 455 people to get the procedure to prevent one case of cancer.
