A 13-year-old boy found shot in the woods was a victim of Sweden’s gang violence, prosecutor says

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — A prosecutor says a 13-year-old boy found dead in woods near his home earlier this month was the latest victim of Sweden’s deadly gang violence. The prosecutor said the boy identified only by his first name, Milo, had been shot in the head in a chilling example of “gross and completely reckless gang violence.” Criminal gangs are a growing problem in Sweden, blamed for drive-by shootings, bombings and grenade attacks. This year, there have been 261 shootings of which 34 were fatal and 71 people were wounded. Sweden’s center-right government has been tightening laws to tackle gang-related crime.
