FOREST PARK, Ill. (AP) — Officials say a man suspected of killing four people aboard a Chicago-area transit train shot them at close range while they were asleep. The shooting happened before 5:30 a.m. Monday aboard the Chicago area’s L system. It happened on a moving Blue Line train near where the line ends in the suburb of Forest Park. Police say a 30-year-old man was later arrested on another Chicago Transit Authority L line. Forest Park Mayor Rory Hoskins said the victims likely didn’t even see the shooter. Authorities filed first-degree murder charges against Rhanni S. Davis of Chicago. Efforts to find an attorney to comment on his behalf weren’t immediately successful. He was expected to appear in court Wednesday.
