Health officials warn Texans not to eat Great Value dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets

USDA

The Texas Department of State Health Services issued a possible lead contamination warning over Great Value frozen dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets Thursday. Walmart sold the nuggets in 29-ounce bags with a best by date of Feb. 10, 2027.

According to health officials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a health alert Wednesday because the nuggets may be contaminated with a high level of lead. The alert reported public health sampling detected the lead. Officials say lead poses the greatest risk to children under six and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant.

Affected packages were pulled from stores. People who still have the described bags of nuggets should not eat them and should throw them away or return them to the store.

The USDA released these photos showing the lot code and establishment number for the possibly contaminated bags.
