FBI names new special agent in charge of El Paso field office
Luis Quesada has been named as the special agent in charge of the El Paso Field Office, FBI Director Christopher Wray announced Wednesday. This comes after El Paso’s former Special Agent in Charge Emmerson Buie was promoted to Chicago.
Quesada joined the FBI as a special agent in 1995 and was assigned to the Miami Field Office. An FBI spokesperson said Quesada has a long career as he investigated violent crimes, focusing on bank robberies, extortion and kidnappings.
Most recently, Quesada was appointed as the assistant special agent in charge of the Criminal Branch in the Jackson Field Office in Mississippi in 2015. He was named an assistant section chief in the Training Division in 2017, before being promoted to section chief of the division’s Training
Services Section in 2018.
Quesada will begin his term in El Paso on November 4.
