Hand over heart, Biden joins grieving families of US troops killed in Jordan as remains arrive home

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. (AP) — President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden joined grieving families at Dover Air Force Base for the dignified transfer of the three American service members killed in a drone attack in Jordan last weekend. During the 15-minute transfer, the president stood solemnly as each transfer case was carried to an awaiting van, which would take the remains to the mortuary at Dover. The solemn ritual that took place Friday in Delaware has become relatively uncommon in recent years as the U.S. has withdrawn from conflicts abroad. The service members were from Georgia. Biden vowed to never forget their sacrifice to the nation and said they “risked it all.”
