EL PASO, Texas -- It was a sweet end to the week for employees at the Richard C. White Federal building in downtown El Paso.

It was their first annual inter-department holiday bake off, with a total of 9 different pies, cakes and cookie selections being submitted.

Participants were joined by dozens of their fellow employees and closely watched each submission be tasted, judged and scored by a three-person panel - which included the former El Paso mayor from 2005 to 2013, John Cook.

The contest was hosted by the El Paso Division of the U.S. Office of Probation.

Following the selection of the top three submissions, the gathered employees were invited to celebrate and finish the rest of the dessert buffet.
