One person hit by a car while crossing Loop 375

UPDATE - The pedestrian hit by a car while crossing on Loop 375 West died from his injuries at a local hospital, police confirmed.

The identity of the man is unknown at this time.
Investigators say the driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid the pedestrian on the roadway. The driver immediately pulled over to stop to render help.
This is the 70th fatality of this year compared to 69 this time last year.
The investigation is ongoing.

EL PASO, Texas -- One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Loop 375, near Paisano.
Emergency dispatchers said the person was crossing Loop 375 when they were hit.
Police have not released the victim's identity.
The Border Highway is closed while police investigate.
