Dog rescued from Montana Vista quarry by sheriff’s deputies and firefighters
EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies are raising money to pay the veterinarian bills of a dog that was rescued from a rock quarry in Montana Vista. Officials said Wednesday they are also looking for a good home for the saved canine.
The Sheriff's Office said the dog had been trapped at the Rock Quarry on O’Leary Road for at least three days when deputies and Montana Vista firefighters were finally able to rescue it from a cliff on Tuesday.
"The dog is a large male brindle and he will be fostered while a forever home can be secured," said Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Leslie Antunez, who indicated the dog was also undergoing a medical assessment to ensure he's in good health.
Antunez said anyone who would like to donate toward the dog's medical bills can do so through the Venmo account @Dev4Dogs.
Those interested in adopting the dog can call Antunez at 915-479-1678.
