WATCH: ABC-7’s Iris Lopez appears on ‘The View’ as a “superfan” for show’s 25th anniversary
EL PASO, Texas - ABC-7's very own Iris Lopez and her family appeared on ABC's 'The View' on Friday.
The appearance was part of the show's 25th anniversary celebration, and part of this celebration is showcasing the shows biggest fans, whom they refer to as "superfans." Lopez claimed she's the show's biggest fan, however, her parents begged to differ and said that they were actually the show's biggest fans.
The segment documented Lopez's daily life as a single mom, being a radio host for KISS 93.1, and her reporting for KVIA ABC-7. She talked about her struggles with balancing work and family, including raising her 12-year-old son, as well as how certain events such as the Aug. 3 shooting and the COVID-19 pandemic impacted her and her job.
She then went on to discuss her non-profit organization, 'Mija, Yes You Can,' which strives to empower women of all ages and backgrounds, as well as hopes to remind them that an equal world "can exist."
The hosts of 'The View' ultimately ended the segment by inviting Lopez and her parents to upcoming tapings of the show in the Bahamas.
