Las Cruces house damaged in massive fire
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- A house on the 2200 block of Desert Drive in Las Cruces caught fire just before 5 a.m. Thursday morning. Officials say no one was injured in the blaze.
When crews first arrived at the house they saw "heavy fire conditions" on the house's two floors and in the attic. They searched for people, but the homeowner had already escaped.
24 firefighters fought for 17 minutes to put out the fire, officials say. They are still looking into the cause of the fire and estimating the cost of the damage.
