Defamation trial against Former President Donald Trump Begins

E. Jean Carroll is expected to testify on Wednesday in the battery and defamation trial against Former President Donald Trump.

The former magazine columnist arrived at a federal courthouse Tuesday morning for her civil trial.

She alleges Trump raped her in the dressing room of a luxury department store in the mid 1990's. Trump denies the charges and has said he has never met Carroll.

An employee of that department store is scheduled to be the first witness on Wednesday.

Trump is not expected to attend the trial, unless he is called to testify or opts to take the stand in his own defense. Since it is a civil case, he is not required to appear.

The trial is expected to last up to two weeks.
