Pink steel beams raise awareness, dollars in breast cancer fight

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Bright symbols of strength stand tall at a condo project in downtown Asheville.
Pink beams raised at 145 Biltmore Avenue Friday included signatures and special messages.
Dave Steel Company, Beverly Grant, Sixty West Funds, and The Preserve communities partnered to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
The PinkStrongSteelStrong fundraising campaign is online through the end of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
“It really means the world to a lot of us. All of us have been touched by one form of cancer or another, and for the business community to be able to come together and have a project like this and involve the community is very special,” said Babette Freund, Dave Steel Co. Executive Vic President.

So far, PinkStrongSteelStrong has raised about $71 ,000.
