Texas Caretaker Found Dead In Front Of Elderly Couple’s Home From Possible Animal-Related Injuries

ANAHUAC, TX (KTVT) — A 59-year-old woman was found dead in front of the home of an elderly couple she was taking care of in southeast Texas and authorities believe her death may have been caused by an animal.
The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday that Christine Rollins died in the front yard of a home in Anahuac, about 50 miles east of Houston.
Authorities said Rollins was found by the 84-year-old homeowner she took care of after she didn’t show up at her normal time.
According to the sheriff’s office, Rollins had injuries to her head that may have been caused by a fall but also injuries that appeared to be from an animal. Officials are working to determine her exact cause of death.
Authorities told KTRK that wild hogs, which have been reported in the area by neighbors, are a possible cause of death.
“At this time detectives are unable to determine if she collapsed due to a medical condition and the fall caused the head injury, or if the animals may have caused the fall and contributed to her death,” Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said.
It is currently unknown if the couple had any animals on their property.
The sheriff’s office does not suspect foul play in her death.
