Rumble strips installed near home hit by multiple drunk drivers

    CAPE CORAL, Fla (WBBH) — A Cape Coral woman is thanking City leaders for taking action and installing new signs and safety measures near her home on SE 20th Court.

A few weeks ago, a suspected drunk driver smashed into Laura Langone’s home and caused significant damage. A City spokesperson said five crashes have happened at or near her home, with at least three of those involving drunk drivers.

She said she has asked the city for help and is grateful they have come up with a solution.

“As soon as I saw the signs were out so quickly, so quickly,” Langone said. “They jumped right to it. I felt overwhelming gratitude.”

Langone said the City added paint to the street, new signs and rumble strips telling drivers to slow down.
