LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - The losing streak is over.

Wednesday night at the Pan American Center, the New Mexico State Aggies ended their 9 game losing skid with a victory over Stephen F. Austin.

The final score was 73-67.

It was NMSU's first win in WAC play this season, and the first conference win for first year head coach, Greg Heiar.

NMSU would take a 40-38 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Aggies would have an 11 point lead, but the Lumberjacks would battle back to cut NMSU's lead to one point.

However, the Aggies would hold the Lumberjacks in check and pull away for the victory.

Five Aggies would reach double figures in Wednesday's game, with NMSU's DaJuan Gordon leading the way for NMSU with 15 points.

NMSU is now 1-9 in WAC play, 8-14 overall.

NMSU's next game will be against Seattle Saturday at the Pan American Center.
