Tydus Verhoeven returning to UTEP, withdraws from transfer portal
EL PASO, Texas - New UTEP basketball coach Joe Golding picked up a big win on the recruiting trail Monday, by securing a commitment from one of his own players!
Center Tydus Verhoeven, who started every game in the 2020-21 season, announced on twitter Monday his intention to return to UTEP for the 2021-22 season.
A skilled passer and interior rim defender, Verhoeven led the Miners in blocked shots last season as well as averaged 4.9 points per game.
Veerhoeven's return is a big boost for UTEP, who is anticipating losing starting forward Bryson Williams to the transfer portal. Williams however, is reportedly considering a return to the Miners as well.
A Manteca, CA native, Verhoeven transferred to UTEP from Duquesne where lead the Atlantic in blocked shots (71) his freshman season.
