ABC-7 Xtra: El Pasoans face higher gas & water prices – but for how long?
EL PASO, Texas -- Drivers are hitting the road more now that the pandemic seems to be winding down. Gasoline prices are soaring with an average of $3 a gallon in the borderland.
But that's not the only price hike El Pasoans are looking at, as El Paso Water rates also went up.
Sunday on ABC-7 Xtra, host Saul Saenz asks the president and CEO of El Paso Water if he believes water rates will continue to climb until the water system is finally, and completely, updated.
As for gas prices, a spokesman for Triple-A says current gas price increases are due mainly to supply and demand. As more people emerge from home confinement during the pandemic, more will need gasoline and thus prices could continue to soar.
Saenz asks the Triple-A representative if gas prices locally could reach $4 a gallon.
