ABC-7 First Alert: Line of storms expected tonight, winds, cooler temps follow

Good Saturday morning! Last week was rainy, then we had a few nice, warm and dry days. Now, our weather is going to change once again with an increase in rain chances, winds, and much colder temperatures! Let's begin with today's impacts.

This evening, most forecast models are predicting a line of thunderstorms to move across the region, from the west to the east. These storms will be fast moving, but may pack a punch as they travel across the region with brief heavy downpours, gusty winds, and perhaps some small size hail as well. I am forecasting the line of storms to move across the region after 6PM and before 10PM. Today will be warm, with highs in the mid to low 80s, which is above average.

Tomorrow, a cold front will move across the region in the afternoon/early evening hours. Our highs will only make it to the low 70s, with plenty of rain chances throughout the day. We're up to a 70% chance of rain for your Sunday, so make sure you have the rain gear handy. Winds will pick up, and gust to about 30 mph especially for those of us on the westside.

By Monday, we will be drying out, but temperatures will be much colder, in the low 60s! Get those jackets and blankets ready! I know I'll need them!
