ABC-7 First Alert: Strongest winds today, rain overnight

Good morning everyone! Today is the day when we can expect strong winds across the region. I'm forecasting peak wind gusts around 40 mph for the lowlands, but some gusts could be stronger (45-50mph) in and around the mountains and east/northeast sides of town. Bring anything that could fly away inside.

We could also see some light to moderate rain move across the region later on tonight, and overnight. For Monday, a cold front will move across the area which will keep our winds at a breezy to windy level (gusts up to 35-40mph), and drop our temperatures by about 15 degrees as well. Have the hot cocoa on standby!

By Tuesday, our winds will decrease, temperatures will slightly increase, and we'll return back to sunny skies! We will continue to warm through Wednesday, before winds will return on Thursday around 35 mph and we could see some rain by then too. Stay up to date with our forecasts here at ABC-7.
