EL PASO, Texas — Around 1,600 homes and business were without power Tuesday night due to outages in northeast El Paso.

According to El Paso Electric, the outages began occurring around 9 p.m. in the Logan Heights area and spread.

Police and fire dispatchers indicated a blown transformer was apparently to blame for the outages.

Crews were able to restore power a few hours later.

It was a second night of outages for El Paso Electric, which saw about 550 customers lose power Monday evening for about an hour on the city's east side.
